My exams are (were) over since last Friday and technically I should have alot of spare time to blog or stuff, but unfortunately this isn't so. Although we have a temporary laptop now, and a tempremental com, I'm either too busy or too lazy to blog.

I've been going through my papers for the last 3 day, and amazingly, I got A's for Bio and Physics. This is so amazing, cause I thought I was a goner for those subjects. And Chinese, yeah, I mangaged to score a decent A2 (barely).

But the school is so irratating, I think they forgot what the word Holiday means. We've been told by almost every subject teacher to spend the December holidays studying that subject. wow. I can spend the whole holiday solely studying about a few subjects. I didn't think that was possible. But Lao Shi took the time to explain the importance and reasons behind each homework so I can understand why she gave it to us. But its irritating when people go "here, you guys did badly, do the TYS for the whole holiday or next year O levels you will do badly." I mean they said alot more but that's what I heard. And here we have the whole study-isn't-important-must-also-learn-beyond-the-classroom thing. I want to tell the school it's impossible to learn beyond the classroom if all they tell us to do is the TYS. It's like that comic by Iskanda, which shows a father saying "You want to play outside? Okay, I don't want to put too much pressure on you about studying. If you rather play then fail this test, you'll end up poor and homeless. But, it's your choice".

Now, the "Rainbow carnival" is coming up and my class'es proposal for a haunted house was appoved. They actually made the anouncement "Congradualations to 3E for the approval of their proposak" or something like that. And since I also promised to help Marsila sell textbooks I guess I'm pretty much booked for that day, hope I can still go and buy some books.

Currently listening to Pimsleur Japanese on Youtube. It's useful for learning prounciation and some basic words. And learn how to have a mini convo, and say you don't know japanese. I kept reading about ho1w good the series was so I bought Rachel the Korean set for her Birthday (Happy Birthday!) She got me a Fondue set ^_^.

I just have to post today. Cause it's the 8/8/08! Such a cool no. and the start of the Beijing Olympics.

Today was national day celebration and it was way better than the one 2 years ago (They made us debate about the PAP). Then again. my friends organised it. ^_^ Ah See Yi Yi rented a room at a hotel again to watch NDP. I hafta remember to bring a camera to take pictures, and hopefully there's a computer there (Just like last year!).

Too bad there's still tuition tomorrow.

Recently Chui sent me this email bout how scientist found a "missing day" from the Bible, which is totally untrue and impossible to find out. I mean, you have to have a definite known starting time and computers are definitely not advanced enough. For me, I think this link is useful to tell you what arguments NOT to use.

And as usual, we had another talk on abortion. Agnes is such a hoot, and Ms Tan is awesome. I mean the video was clearly not effective but Ms Tan's talk scared Agnes into being anti-abortion. It's just awful what they're doing to the babies. It's been shown that the baby is a separate individual which means its tantamount to murder. And what's the logic in prosecution a baby killer but legalising abortion???

Look at this comparision (From CMI):

"Just assume for the sake of the argument that it is a real human baby and that intentional killing of innocent humans is wrong. Then it would follow that no amount of psychological trauma for a pregnant woman would justify taking an innocent life, especially in the horrifying ways that this life is taken—which no animal-rights activist would tolerate even for a laboratory rat. So we respond: ‘You have no right to be so judgmental of our euthanasia and abortion section when you haven’t been through the horrific experience that millions of unborn babies suffer every year.’

This can be expanded: if the unborn really is entitled to protection from being murdered, then for a moral argument we can substitute ‘unborn baby’ for, say, a two-year-old (‘2yo’), and see what follows if we apply pro-abortion rhetoric:

If these arguments seem horrific (which they are), then put yourselves in our shoes, who believe that the unborn baby is human, when we hear the parallel statements from ‘pro-choicers’ to justify abortion. And don’t think that such arguments won’t one day be applied to older children—the notorious pro-infanticide philosopher Peter Singer was recently appointed to a personal chair at Princeton University, and was the invited author of the Encyclopædia Britannica’s article ‘Ethics’. It’s ironic that the academia of the Allied nations are now right behind Singer, while in Germany, Singer’s lectures are always attended by mass protests by people in wheelchairs and those with other disabilities, and other lectures have had to be cancelled as a result of such protests—presumably Germans know neo-nazism when they see it, and don’t want it to happen again! So let’s get to the real issues, whether the baby is human and whether killing innocent humans can be justified."

went for the NUS competition on Thurs. Lost TERRIBLY, we had 2 points and hwa chong high and hwa chong jc had what? 10-12 ponts!! Turns out we mugged the wrong thing. We (me Charlotte, Juhi and Geri) had to stay back til 9-nish cos Charlotte went MIA at first; so we switched places and did the second shift. Even tho we ALL mugged the wrong thing and didn't score so high,(our highest score is 6 points)we actually want to do it again next year (if we can). All of us and some more from class. We also want to do VJ's competition and we're all excited about more mugging! 3E rocks! And we, (me Charlotte,Geri and Juhi) now love the Tibetion Yak!!! It gave us our 2 ponts!!! And the competition was fun. We travelled to Jurong Regional Library to mug and came up with 2 crazy plans to win. Get (me) om a sugar high so I end up "cackling/giggling" (in Juhi's words, I say I'm just trying not to laugh out loud) and scare our opponents and also use the sugar high to get all the buzzer questions. Too bad it wore off just before we started the competition. (not enought nerds to eat)

Made chocolate fudge for luchbox day. Thank God it turned out ok and everyone liked it. I'm just sorry that: a. I didn't save one for Mrs Choo cause she bought us muchy donuts and strawberry cheesecake even though we didn't win the competition. and B. I didn't bring copies of the recipe to school cause some people were asking for it. But I posted it here some time in January/Febuary.

On another random note, my Malay is getting better. I can understand and create simple sentences. AND, Cikgu is also my relief Bio teacher. Too bad I have to miss Malay AGAIN, for the Compre exam. I'm cramming in Katakana and learning more Japanese vocab (its easier now I know hiragana).

While we were mugging for the competition (which we all did very seriously, I mean we (Juhi, me and Geri) memorised as much as possible if not all the capitals, presidents and prime ministers except Russia and Turkey coz we forgot that was Asia. And I learned all about the literature and let me tell you, ONE Chinese book can have as many as FIVE tittles. And Charlotte took to memorising statistics.... but I digress)

I remembered about the case of Linda Joy(while doing Malaysian Social Science). What I'm about to say may offend some people so this is a disclaimer: This is my personal opinions so don't arrest me or sue me. I think Linda Joy should have been allowed to apostatize. This is because of a few simple violations:
1. People should be allowed to choose their own religion, if they want to convert, let them or they'll still be unbelievers anyway.
2. It would show everyone that Malaysia allows religious freedom. All those cases lately (e.g banning the Bible in malay, argueing over the corpse, conversion of children who don't understand the implications without both parents consent, (I noticed this happens only with couples on bad terms/divorced/getting divorced. So its probably revenge)) is kinda bad for Malaysia. Now, I love Malaysia and the Language and I stay there every holiday so again, these opinions are personal and not meant to offend.

Talking about Malaysia reminds me that my Bro/Adik lelaki already misses Tanjong Puteri. It's really sweet and it gets him to behave. My logic on why he likes it better than Singapore and is willing to give up his beloved to "stay here forever" is because the house is a bungalow, not a small, tiny HDB. I know a maisonette is considered big I feel its small and the there's more kampung spirit in a bungalow estate. I mean we had and still have an open invitation to our neighbours house/pool any time we want. If Mely is reading this, "thanks and I really want to visit soon!" . Here, everyone is friendly but its still not like "old times". I just know didi tan would love 107E. -sigh- -feeling homesick, again-

By the way, the Bloody Mary Episode is haunting me at midnight. It gets annoying cause I rush out of the bathroom half asleep and end up waking up and not being able to sleep again (This goes back to my Insomia Incident in P6/Sec1 when I was ordered (by the doc) to take a nap every afternonn.... which means I didn't do much) Maybe if I study hard enough/read more books (like the Miyuke Miyabe I borrowed, couldn't get Louise Penny this time) I can forget it. Hmm, now thats an idea...

I think I've been random enough for a long time. My blogging muse may not wake up/get inspired like this for a long time. Anyway, Sayonara, Adios Amigos, Selamat Jalan, Bye!

ARGH!!!!! My head is bursting with all I'm trying to memorise for the NUS FASS Quiz on Thurs. I keep blurting our random information. At least its fun to know some stuff.... i think.

I'm over the moon, ecstatic, jumping for joy, grinning like that cat from Alice in wonderland cuz I don't need to go for OBS!!!!! YES!!!!!! It will bug me no longer or give me headaches!

I can't believe mozilla deleted all my searches. It was meant for future references. Before that, it deleted all my URL's. This better be a one time thing or I'll have to switch to the slower internet explorer.

I'm being random again! (happens alot lately) and I'm bored with blogging (Already! nah, just for now) so I'm gonna stop right now.

Wow! I've been posting alot lately. Guess cause it's because I have more time.

Guess what! I actually cut my hair all the way to shoulder length! I was at the hairdresser's on Sunday and I decided to just cut my hair from the middle of my back to just below the shoulders. I'm enjoying my new hair length and it's great that people actually noticed that it's been cut and they think it's better than my new hair! I think I'll let it grow out till I get another urge to cut my hair

I was really excited about the holidays till I saw the amount of homework we have. The teachers are sadists, almost all of them are; in fact I think the whole school/society/world/meritocratic mindset is cruel. Please! Holidays are for me/us to have fun! Just because you're bored doesn't mean you should inflict punishment on us!!

Then, to make things worse, we have our progress reports (AKA CA1's). So far, I've been doing ok, mostly A's except for 2 subjects but honestly, why should we get our report for term 1 only in term 2. It's ridiculous! How am I suppose to use the one week to persuade my dad to buy a reward for me if there's nothing to show him how well I did. Oh well, no use complaining. But I got sooo annoyed today. Ms Tan didn't enter our English marks correctly. I think nearly the whole class got lower than they should. I got pulled down from a B3 to a B4!!!( because I 'lost' 3 marks) But since she says she'll add it (the marks) to us in term 3 progress report I guess it fair compensation. I've been mugging during recess lately, trying to get a head start on the holiday homework.

To top it all off (bad things do come in threes). We have our cross country tomorrow. Some people like Janelle and Euphemia are so sporty they're looking forward to it. But I really really really HATE running, it makes me feel all dizzy and nauseas. With all the bad things this week, no wonder I feel sick. But normally it's just migraines, now I feel dizzy and nauseas for no good reason. what joy (can you sense the sarcasm?)

With the hol's drawing near, (today's the last school, school day for us ) I really miss Tanjong Puteri. I miss sleeping till 11 in a dark room (it's so bright and noisy in a HDB, yesterday some siow person went to put some alarm thing at 2 in the morning). I miss staying in a bungalow and swimming everyday. I miss the food, especially the seafood.Even is this stay is really short (we're going only for 4D3N) My bro and I are really excited. My bro is so kawaii, he told me he want's to live in Tanjong Puteri; when I asked him about school (cuz he loves his school), he went "I can go to my new school" with this really cute angmoh/chinese tone (due to the television). If we ever have a out-of-Singapore class party, (and why not? We're 15 this year) we really should have it there.

Now i'm gonna be very guai and start the homework so i don't have to do it in Tanjong Puteri. And prepare myself mentally for cross-country. If you hear of someone fainting /stopping/ vomiting half way there's a good chance its me. Maybe I should just bring medicine. Ok, rambling again. I really gotta do some work, I have no wish to do any work during the hol's so I do everything before the hol's. Bye

Here's a quick post. Just did A maths test today and am really worried about it. I need prayers about it and for my Physics exam tomorrow, it counts for a big part of my grade.I really hope I won't blank out in the middle of it- everyone says its really tough (worried/hyper anxiety going on)

On the bright side, I'll be watching "L, change the world" tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to it. I'll be going with my cousin and sister, (even if it isn't really her type of movie). I'll probably do a quick review as well as introduce some good manga next time (when I'm free).

Oh, and a quick note, I personally think that Hitler's EVIL!! My friend respects him but I'm trying my best to change her mind and she's trying to change mine. I think I mentioned that Hitler openly exploited the church and nearly exterminated a race of people because of his evolutionary ideas. Stupid person, stupid people who think religion is bad and evolution is good.

Ok, my brain is jumping from topic to topic, not good. I need to focus on my exam. Maybe I can do the 4R's from golf, then next week I can finally give the teacher an example of Golf in real life. Now, how does the 4R's go again.... (joking lah, I totally remember, we went through a long and painful (kinda) process revising it today)

so today we were watching the 5.30 show on channel 8 and the character I really dislike caused his own baby's death so i was like "I hope he commits suicide cuz of his guilt" and I immediately thought omgosh, how morbid!

update

I've been sick recently. Thats probably cause my immune system is reeaally weak and I suffer from migraines too.

On Sat, I woke up at 6 in the morning to go golf competition. Didn't win anything but it was kinda fun. There were so little MG girls (bout 8 of us), we weren't allowed to do the life skills quiz, (cause we won all the prizes last time) so we only competed in course, longest drive and nearest to pin. I'm really glad to say that we won 4 or 5 prizes, which were mainly second and third place.

Then, I read this article about how Singapore should legalise Euthanasia, (which is known as mercy Killing, isn't that an oxymoron?) so i got really mad and wrote something refuting it and sent it Today newspaper. I'm gonna wait and see what happens.

I'm beyond excited about the Cambodia trip, I'll leave on Sunday morning, which means I have to wake up at 5 so i can reach the airport at 6:30. We will have internet access in Cambodia so I'll try to post or I'll take lots of pictures and publish them when I come back.

People who are in my class should know that recently we saw this show about abortion which I think scarred me. Ack, looking at the poor dead babies makes me feel so sad.

Most of you know that I am super creationist. ( I keep asking you to read this and that) so i went to one of the best websites, which has a page on abortion and Euthanasia. If you don't know, Euthanasia is the legal killing. Like the doctor can help you end your life.

I personally think that abortion should be illegal. I think life begins at conception and that abortion denies a human the right to live....... just like MURDER!!
